This EP was written and recorded as the follow-up to The Beginning to an Ending, at Garageland 2.0 in Tacoma, Washington. It uses the same hybrid approach as its predecessor, with one change: instead of miking real cabinets with real microphones, we recorded DI tracks for each guitar and bass part and fed them into a Peavey 6505+ boosted with an Ibanez Tube Screamer (TS9).
Drums were recorded the same way as on The Beginning to an Ending, with a different Superior Drummer 3 library: Metal Foundry. Bass was recorded with the Axe-Fx and our signature bass tone.
The band conceptualized all of the artwork. I wanted to experiment with the lifelessness of artificial intelligence, so I used it to create the cover. The EP deals with suicide and drug addiction, and those themes left me feeling lifeless at the end of my journey.
